Prof. Dr. G\u00f6kengin, &#8220;Merkez olarak ama\u00e7lar\u0131m\u0131z HIV\/AIDS&#8217;e ili\u015fkin b\u00f6lgesel verileri toplayarak analiz etmek, konuyla ilgili ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yapmak, hasta ve hasta yak\u0131nlar\u0131 ile ba\u015fta risk gruplar\u0131 olmak \u00fczere toplumu bu hastal\u0131klar konusunda bilgilendirmek, HIV\/AIDS enfeksiyonuna ili\u015fkin dan\u0131\u015fmanl\u0131k hizmetleri vermek, epidemiyolojik ve klinik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yapmak&#8221; dedi. HIV\/AIDS ile birlikte ya\u015fayan ki\u015filerin taban olu\u015fturdu\u011fu sivil toplum kurulu\u015flar\u0131yla i\u015fbirli\u011fi i\u00e7erisinde olacaklar\u0131n\u0131 anlatan Prof. Dr. Deniz G\u00f6kengin, &#8220;Hastalar\u0131n da merkezimizde g\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fc olarak g\u00f6rev almalar\u0131n\u0131 istiyoruz. Bu a\u015famada hastalar\u0131n birbirlerine dan\u0131\u015fmanl\u0131k yapmas\u0131 \u00e7ok \u00f6nemlidir. Bu ba\u011flamda \u00f6zellikle Pozitif Ya\u015fam Derne\u011fi ve Cinsel Yolla Bula\u015fan Hastal\u0131klarla Sava\u015f\u0131m Derne\u011fi ile ortak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirmeyi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyoruz&#8221; diye konu\u015ftu.
