15-22 Şubat 2019 tarihleri arasında yoğun programlı bir Mısır ve Nil gezisi gerçekleştirdik. Ta ilkokuldan beri duyduğum Eski Mısır kültürü ve Nil'i yerinde inceleme ve anlamaya çalışmakla geçen yedi güzel gün geçirdim. Hem Türkiyeli rehberimiz hem de Mısırlı rehberimizin eşliğinde Mısır bilimi seminerlerine benzer nitelikte doyurucu bir gezi oldu. Mısır'a gitmeden önce epey bir kaynak okudum. Dönünce de okuma ve araştırmalarım sürdü. Ayrıca orada bulunduğum sürede hem geçmiş dönem ile ilgili hem de günümüz Mısır'ı ile ilgili birçok bilgi edindim.
Mısır gezisi dönüşü epeydir sıra bekleyen "Türkiye'de Yahudi Olmak-Bir Deneyim Sözlüğü" (*) adlı kitabı okudum. Bu kitap bana Mısır ile ilgili farklı bir gezi yazısı yazmam konusunda esin kaynağı oldu. Abecesel düzende Mısır gezisi sırasında gördüğüm, duyduğum, deneyimlediğim birçok konu ve kavramları başlıklar halinde fotoğraf destekli anlatmaya çalışacağım. Hem eski Mısır hem de günümüz Mısır'ı ile ilgili gözlemlerimi de araya serpiştireceğim. Olabildiği kadar terimlere boğmadan kısa ve öz anlatmaya çalışacağım. Ancak böyle köklü bir kültürü çok kısa ve öz anlatmak da kolay olmayacak.
Çalışmalarımda elbette birçok eksik olacaktır. Ancak buradaki amacımın gözlerimle gördüklerimi, kulağımla duyduklarımı, dilimle tattıklarımı okuduklarımla kaynaştırıp bir Mısır Kültürü İzlencesi oluşturmaktır. Eksiğim, yanlışım olmuşsa da şimdiden özür dilerim. Eski Mısır ve Nil kültürü bu gün de dünyanın her yerinden gezginleri kendine çekmeye devam ediyor. ALABASTER:(İngilizce: Alabaster, Türkçe: Kaymak taşı) Kaymak taşı, su mermeri veya albatr adıyla anılır. Daha çok süs eşyası ve heykel yapımında kullanılan, ince pürüzlü bir tür kireç taşıdır. Doğal halde iken ışığı geçirir ve beyaz renktedir ancak yapay olarak renklendirilebilir. Isı verilerek yarı saydam hale getirilebilir veya mermere benzetilebilir.
Eski Mısır'da değerli bir taş olan alabaster; Firavun, ailesi ve yüksek sınıfın iç organ mumyalamasında kullandığı kapların yapımında kullanılıyordu. Ayrıca mutfak ve kişisel eşya yapımında kullanılmış. Müzelerde birçok örneğini gördüm. Günümüzde Luksor şehri çevresinde birçok Alabaster İşliği bulunuyor. Turistik amaçlı üretim yapıyorlar.

ALTIN: Eski Mısırlılar için altın hem çok bol hem de değerli bir madendi. Firavunların ve ailelerinin hem günlük kullanım eşyaları hem de mezarları için hazırlanan birçok eşya som veya yüksek ayarda altında üretilirdi. Firavun özel günlerde kraliyet ailesine ve soylulara hediye etmek üzere ağır toka ve kolyeler, pırlantalarla süslü yakalıklar, değerli hayvan figürleri yaptırıyordu.
Altın diplomatik değiş tokuşta tercih edilen bir değerdi. Mısır'ın Nübye (bu günkü Sudan) madenlerinden elde ettiği altın ona büyük ülkeler arasında benzersiz bir nüfus sağlamaktaydı. Mitanni Kralı Tushfatta'nın Mısır Fİravunu 3. Amenhotep'e gönderdiği bir mektupta bu zenginlik çok güzel özetlenir:
"Kardeşim bana çok miktarda işlenmemiş altın gönderecek... Babama gönderdiğinden daha fazla altın. Kardeşimin ülkesinde altın toz denli çok..."
Altın bu gün de Mısırlı kadınların oldukça yoğun ilgi gösterdikleri bir maden. Kuyumcularda sergilenen gösterişli takılardan bu kolaylıkla anlaşılabiliyor.

AMARNA DEVRİMİ: Eski Mısır'da çok tanrılı bir inanç sistemi vardı. Firavun 4. Amenhotep M.Ö.1375-1350 yılları arasında Aton'u (Güneş Kursu) tek tanrı konumuna yükseltmek için başlattığı eylemler dizisidir. Genç hükümdar tahta çıkışından hemen sonra Büyük Amon Rahibinin elinden tanrının mülklerini yönetme yetkisini alarak, gücünün kaynağını kesti. Firavun adını değiştirerek Akenaton (Aton'a hizmet eden) adını aldı. Başkenti Teb'i terk ederek Amarna'ya (bu günkü Tel-el Amarna) taşıdı. Halk ve din adamları Amarna Devrimini ve getirdiklerini benimseyemediler. Akenaton'un ölümü ile devrim süreci bitti. Ardılı Tutankamon eski dinsel düzene geri döndü.
Tel-el Amarna'da günümüze Akenaton'un yaptırdığı birkaç Aton Tapınağının temelleri kalmıştır.

AMARNA MEKTUPLARI: M.S. 1887 yılında önemli bir buluş gerçekleşti. Tel-el Amarna'da "Amarna Mektupları" adıyla anılan 380 adet pişirilmiş kil tablet bulundu. Bu arşiv "Firavun Yazışma Ofisi" adıyla anabileceğimiz (eski Mısır'ın dışişleri bakanlığı sekreterliği) resmi bir yazışma arşividir. 3.Amenhotep'in egemenlik dönemini sonlarına tarihlidir. Mısır firavununa ona gereken saygı gösterilerek "güneşim, efendim "diye hitap eden komşu krallar ve prensler tarafından gönderilmiştir. Mezopotamya çivi yazısı ve Tunç Çağı Babil diplomasi diliyle yazılmışlardır. Mektuplar; günlük işler, siyaset, hal hatır sorma, dedikodu, kız isteme, altın isteme gibi birçok renkli konu içerir.
Amarna Mektupları British Museum'da sergilenmektedir. Tamamı çözümlenmiş ve çeşitli dillerde kitaplaştırılmıştır.

ANGARYA: Eski Yunanca zorunlu bedelsiz hizmet anlamına gelir. Angarya Eski Mısır'da da uygulanıyordu. Angarya uygulaması Mısır'da tarihin en başından beri taş çıkarmaktan, piramitlerin ve tapınakların inşa edilmesine kadar büyük devlet projelerine gereksinim duyduğu işgücünü sağladı. Mısır'da vergilendirme biçimlerinden en ağır ve nefret edileni ülkedeki her sağlam erkeğin yükümlü olduğu bir vergi sistemiydi.1889 yılına kadar sürdürüldü. Bizim hayranlıkla izlediğimiz piramitler ve tapınaklar bedelsiz hizmet veren tarım işçilerinin alın teri ile yapıldı. Taşkın dönemleri ve ekinlerin büyüme dönemlerinde kimse evinde boş oturtulmazdı. Angaryadan kaçış yoktu. Cezalar ağırdı. İş kazasında ölmek veya yaralanıp sakat kalmak olasılığı çok yüksekti.
ANKH: Antik Mısır'ın en bilinen sembollerinden biri olan Ankh, haç işaretine benzer ama tepesi yuvarlak ve kapalıdır. Birçok Mısır ilahının elinde rastlanmakla birlikte, en çok İsis'in elinde rastlanır. Sembole "kulplu haç" da denilir. Bu sembol sonsuz hayatı ve yeniden hayata gelmeyi temsil ediyor. Ankh, Eski Mısır'da en güçlü kültürel ve dinsel sembollerden biriydi. Yaşamın sembolü olarak kabul ediliyordu ve hatta firavun ile tanrıları Ankh ile gösteren birçok sanat eseri mevcut. Antik Mısırlılar tarafından 'yaşam haçı' olarak da anılıyor, kadın-erkeğin birlikteliğini simgeliyordu. Bu sembol aynı zamanda Nil'in anahtarı olarak da biliniyor. Doğduğu yer ince ucu, döküldüğü İskenderiye deltası yuvarlak başı, sağa ve sola açılan kollar ise Nil'in doğu ve batı yakasıdır.
Abu Simbel'de bulunan Nefertiti Tapınağı'na girmeye çalışırken gezginlerin kocaman bir pirinç ankh ile fotoğraf çektirdiğini gördüm. Bir süre olan biteni izledim. Ne olduğunu anlamaya çalıştım. Daha sonra ankın tapınağın anahtarı olduğunu anladım. Tapınak girişine oturmuş bekçi ankhı gezginlere ödünç veriyordu. Tabi ki bahşiş karşılığında ankh yerinden çıkıyordu.
ASA: Arapça değnek, baston anlamına gelen asa Eski Mısır uygarlığında Firavun ve Eski Mısır Tanrılarının elinden hiç bırakmadığı bir erk ve otorite aracıydı. Ağaçtan değil altın ve değerli taşlardan yapılırdı. Firavunların son yolculuklarında da mezarlarına mutlaka asa bırakılırdı. Tüm toplantı ve törenlerde Firavun elinde asası ve ankhı ile hazır bulunurdu.
ASVAN: Güney Mısır'da Nil ırmağı kıyısında bir kent ve turizm merkezidir. Asvan aynı zamanda Mısır'ın Asvan ilinin idari merkezidir. Nüfusu yaklaşık 200,000 kadardır. Nil ırmağının doğu yanında yer alır ve Nil'in ilk şelalesini bünyesinde barındırır. Dünyanın en kuru yerleşim yerlerinden biridir. 280 km. güney batıda bulunan Abu Simbel Tapınağına buradan gidilir. Ayrıca Nübye Müzesi, Nil Müzesi, Ağa Han Anıt Mezarı, Kitchener Adası, Asvan Müzesi, Philae Tapınağı, Botanik Bahçesi, St.Simeon Manastırı, Asvan Barajı gezilebilecek önemli yerlerdendir.
AT: Mısır'a atı Asyalı istilacı ulus Hiksos'lar getirdiler. Atla birlikte Eski Mısırlılar savaş arabası ile de tanıştılar. Günümüz Mısır'ında ise açlık sınırında faytona koşulan ve tarla sürdürülen atların durumu içler acısı.
ATON(GÜNEŞ KURSU) KÜLTÜ: Firavun Akenaton'un Amarna Devrimi ile ortaya çıkardığı yeni bir inanç sistemi. Akenaton yaşama sevincinin dinsel anlamını güneşte bulmuştu. Mevcut tanrıları tamamen reddetmemekle birlikte En Üstün Tanrı Aton'u ön plana çıkardı. Her yerde Aton Tapınakları yaptırdı. Tapınaklara çatı yaptırılmadı. Güneşin bütün görkemi ile tapınma yapılması için yeni bir mimari düzenleme getirdi.
Saray ve çevresindeki müminleri doğrudan Aton'a değil de onun oğlu olduğunu belirten Akenaton'a tapıyorlardı. Akenaton'un mezarında bulunan bir ilahide şöyle yazar: "Güneş hayatın başlangıcıdır, ışınları bütün ülkeleri kucaklar. Eserlerin ne kadar çeşitlidir. İnsanların önünde gizli duruyorlar. Ey sen tek tanrı, senin dışında başka tanrı yok"

AYAKKABI: Bilinen en eski ayakkabı M.Ö.2000'li yıllara tarihlenen örülmüş papirüsten yapılan sandaldır. Toronto'da bulunduğum dönemde gezdiğim Bata Ayakkabı Müzesinde en eski ayakkabı olarak Eski Mısır'dan bir sandal sergilenmekteydi.

ANTONİUS, MARCUS: (M.Ö 83-30) Mısır kraliçesi Cleopatra'nın aşık olduğu Doğu Roma Kralı.
Roma imparatorluğu Sezar'ın ölümünden sonra ikiye bölününce doğu tarafının yöneticisi Marcus Antonius oldu. Marcus Antonius Mısır'ı ziyareti sırasında Cleopatra'yı gördü. Birbirlerine görür görmez aşık olmuş olan bu çiftin M.Ö. 40 yılında ikiz çocukları oldu. Antonius, eşi Cleopatra'ya o kadar aşık olmuştu ki Cleopatra'yı Mısır, Kıbrıs, Girit ve Suriye valisi tayin etti. Fakat Antonius'un kendi gücünü bu şekilde kullanması Roma Senatosunu karıştırdı ve Marcus Antonius vatan haini ilan edildi. Bu olaydan sonra M.Ö. 31 yılında Antonius ve Cleopatra Mısır'a kaçmak zorunda kaldı. Bu çiftin aşkı ne yazık ki Cleopatra'nın şüpheli ölümü ile sonlandı. Bu acıya dayanamayan Marcus Antonius da kendini bıçaklayarak öldürdü.
Bu dillere destan aşk William Shakespeare tarafından 1606 yılında oyun olarak yazıldı. Bu aşk öyküsü 2000 yılı aşkın bir süredir bizim peşimizi bırakmadı. Temcit pilavı gibi ısıtılıp önümüze konuyor. Aşk ve entrika her zaman ilgi çeken konular. Bu yazıya bile girdi.
